The West Georgian does not keep formal business hours, but you may attend our regular Monday meetings at 11:30 a.m. whenever school is in session.
-If you think you have what it takes to work at The West Georgian, pick up an application outside our door, and either drop it
off along with a resume in the box outside our door in the UCC, or leave it with our advisor, Doug Vinson, at the Mass Communications Department
in the Humanities building. Alternatively, you may e-mail
a copy of your resume to uwgpaper@gmail.com, preferably in Microsoft Word format.
For all other questions, you may contact the Mass Communications Department in the Humanities building.
About The West Georgian
The West Georgian is
the official student newspaper of the University of West Georgia.
The newspaper was founded in 1934 and has seen the college transform into a
flourishing university. The West Georgian added the online edition in
the Fall of 2000 to better serve its readers, and redesigned its website in the Summer of 2009. The award-winning
newspaper has been recognized at state and national levels for
excellence in journalism.
In the past five years, The West Georgian
has received over 13 Georgia College Press Association
Awards including best Web Site, Most Improved, Best Campus Community Service through
Editorial and Sports, General Excellence in Photography and Excellence
in Advertising.
