The NCAA Final Four was held in Atlanta on last weekend and numerous of events took place to coincide with the tournament. West Georgia hosted their version of the Final Four in the student center with all proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes.

Students came out to see their favorite intramural teams compete in the tournament and were entertained by Just E who provided commentary for the games. At the end, the talented Fab Five defeated Young Headz 73-68 to win the tournament

Familiar teams like Untouchables and Trendsetters also competed in the tournament and gave the audience a great show. However, they were unable to advance to the championship game as they were overmatched on the offensive end.

Playing very complacent in the first half, Fab Five fell behind in the championship game as the Young Headz shot lights out and were confident that they could upend the 2007 Basketball Intramural Champions.

Regaining their focus, Fab Five closed out the first half on an impressive run to take a 39-38 lead into halftime. With great shooting and defensive pressure, Fab Five began to pull away from their opponents and eventually sealed the win.

The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by reducing birth defects and infant mortality. For more information please visit www.marchofdimes.com.
