It was a wild weekend for the Wolves on the diamond, with the Softball and Baseball teams pulling off mixed results.


The Wolves’ Softball team took on West Florida here in Carrollton and in two games over two days, they walked away with two losses, falling 11-1 on Saturday and 11-7 on Sunday.


The Wolves Baseball team faced off against North Alabama in three away games, losing on the first of the double header on Saturday 8-5 but winning the second game 9-5. They returned to the field on Sunday and fell in a nailbiting 13-12 game.


On Saturday, in softball, Third Base player Chrissy Rainwater batted in the sole run, slugging a homerun out to left field The Wolves made four hits off the 13th-ranked team in the nation West Florida.


On Sunday, the Wolves matched up against West Florida once more, scoring 7 runs off the tough West Florida team, and racking up 10 hits. Center Fielder Candice Brown, Second Base Lindsay Ellenburg, and Left Fielder Megan Garcia all racked up 2 runs each, with First Base Kaley Sullivan rounding it out with a single run of her own.


The baseball team did better for UWG, falling in the first game with 5 runs and 8 hits. Right-fielder Brett Wright, Left-fielder Brian York, Center-fielder Mike Markakis, First Baseman Blake Parrot, and Catcher David Buchanan all carried a single run.


In the second game, the Wolves walked away with a win, scoring nine runs with 13 hits. Brian York, Michael Hornsby, and Justin Smith walked away doing 2 runs of damage to UNA. Brett Wright, Brandon Mainor and Michael Bridges each did a single run each.


Finally, the Wolves battled it out on Sunday and fell 13-12, with 14 hits for the day. Michael Hornsby, Brett Wright, Justin Smith, Ben Lillis, and David Buchanan all dished out 2 runs. Brandon Mainor and Brian York each dealt a single run to the scoreboard.


The Wolves Baseball team heads to the field on Wednesday at 2:00 pm for a double-header against Mars Hill. The Softball team battles Alabama-Huntsville in a double-header at 2:00 on Saturday.
